Common Side Effects:

• Digestive System: Nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea, constipation, indigestion, bloating, belching, gas, gastroenteritis, acid reflux, and gastritis
• Neurological: Headaches, dyspepsia (discomfort in the digestive tract), dizziness
• Cardiovascular: Increased heart rate, low blood pressure (hypotension)

• Eye-Related: Retinal disorders (particularly in diabetic patients)
• Skin: Redness or discomfort at the injection site

Serious Reactions:

• Medullary thyroid cancer (Thyroid C-cell tumors)
• Severe allergic reactions, including anaphylaxis
• Angioedema (swelling under the skin)
• Acute kidney injury or worsening chronic kidney disease
• Pancreatitis (inflammation of the pancreas)
• Gallstones (cholelithiasis) and inflammation of the gallbladder (cholecystitis)
• Fainting episodes (syncope)

BLACK BOX WARNING: RISK OF THYROID C-CELL TUMORS

• This medication has been found to cause thyroid C-cell tumors in animal studies. It is not yet known if this medication can cause similar tumors in humans. You should not use this medication if you have a personal or family history of Medullary Thyroid Carcinoma (MTC) or Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia Syndrome Type 2 (MEN 2). Discuss the benefits and risks of this treatment with your provider. Contact your provider immediately if you notice any signs of thyroid tumors, such as an unusual growth or lump in the neck, difficulty swallowing, shortness of breath, or persistent hoarseness.
